Carmarthenshire County Council and Sports Council for Wales have supported the role of a Disability Sports Development Officer since 2002.
The main duties of the Disability Development officer is as follows: -
- To lead the strategic development, and implementation, of disability sport within Carmarthenshire and to contribute toward the national aims of the Disability Sport Cymru scheme.
- To facilitate a broad range of sporting and physical activity opportunities which reflect and meet the needs of the range of impairments and abilities within the County.
- To Coordinate and supervise the Carmarthenshire Disabled Sports and Activities Club
Carmarthenshire Disabled Sports & Activities Club
This club is primarily for young adults and adults who have a sensory and / or physical disability.
To join this club you can be referred by Social Services, a School or yourself.
As from 1st April 2010 there will be a nominal fee for attending the Carmarthenshire Disabled Sports and Activities Club sessions.
