Carmarthenshire Sports Development is committed to developing and supporting sporting and physical activity opportunities for all within the county. Below are details of a number of initiatives managed by the Sports Development Unit.
Taith Fflam Sir Gâr ~ Aelodau o'r Clybiau i Gludo'r Fflam
I Dîm Datblygu Chwaraeon Sir Gaerfyrddin, bydd 27ain Chwefror – 28ain Mawrth yn 'fis taith y fflam' wrth iddynt redeg dros 100 o filltiroedd gan gludo Fflam Sir Gâr mewn ymgais i ysbrydoli pobl ifanc y sir cyn Taith swyddogol Fflam Llundain 2012.
Bydd y digwyddiad, a fydd yn cychwyn yn Ysgol Emlyn ac yn gorffen yn Ysgol Pantycelyn, yn treulio o leiaf diwrnod ym mhob un o'r 18 o ysgolion uwchradd ac ysgolion arbennig yn Sir Gaerfyrddin. Bydd pob cam o'r daith yn cael ei gwblhau ar droed a bydd nifer o redwyr yn cymryd rhan gan gynnwys Swyddogion Datblygu Chwaraeon, Llysgenhadon Ifanc Safon Aur, cewri o fyd y campau a disgyblion ysgol.
Hoffwn roi cyfle i aelod o'ch clwb chi gymryd rhan yn y digwyddiad hwn y mae disgwyl mawr amdano, a gwahodd yr aelod i wneud cais am gyfle i gludo'r fflam yn ystod Taith y Fflam.
2011 Carmarthenshire Sports Personality Awards
The short listing for this year’s Sports Personality Awards will take place shortly. Those athletes/coaches/volunteers and teams that have been short listed for these prestigious awards will be announced soon……
Thank you to those who have submitted nominations. Short listing will be difficult. So many quality nominations.
Funding for Clubs / Individuals
There are a number of funding schemes aimed at improving the development of sport and physical activity to clubs/organisations and individuals within Carmarthenshire.
From April 2011 there is now £1500 available to organisations through the Community Chest Grant!
Rugby Clubs are being offered support to improve their facilities through the RBS Rugby Force community volunteer programme. For more information visit the RBS 6 Nations Website.

The latest edition of the AYP Newsletter is now being published. The Spring 2011 newsletter promotes the three AYP programmes - Dragon Sport, 5x60 and PESS.
Carmarthenshire Local Sports Council
