When a developer agrees to provide affordable homes as part of a planning application, this is formalised in a section 106 agreement. The agreement will state either the percentage of affordable homes to be provided (outline applications) or the actual plots and house types (full or reserved matters applications).
The agreement will also show how the sale prices of affordable homes will be restricted, both at initial sale and at all future sales. This is based on multiples of the gross median household income in the six community network areas of Carmarthenshire.
The income figures are updated in November each year.
