The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 placed a legal duty on all Local Authorities to work with the police and other partners to establish Community Safety Partnerships to tackle problems of crime and disorder in their areas.
The Carmarthenshire Community Safety Partnership
The Carmarthenshire Community Safety Partnership is chaired by the Chief Executive of the Council and is made up of senior members from Dyfed-Powys Police and Police Authority, Mid & West Wales Fire Service, Dyfed Powys Probation Service and Youth Offending Teams, and the Carmarthenshire Local Health Board
The Partnership was formed to make Carmarthenshire an even safer and more secure place to live, work and visit.
The partnership's key priorities are to address:
- Anti-social behaviour and fear of crime
- Substance misuse
- Domestic abuse
- Violent / Alcohol related crime
- Vehicle crime
- Road safety
