Forward Work Programmes

Each Scrutiny Committee is required to produce and publish a planned programme of work called a Forward Work Programme (FWP), to cover a period of a Municipal Year.

The FWP will schedule a range of issues and reports to be considered over the course of a year and is usually formulated to reflect issues emerging from the Executive Board’s FWP.

The FWP is developed by members of the scrutiny committee and is designed to be flexible so that it is capable of reacting to urgent issues. The FWP will also reflect Scrutiny’s role in performance monitoring, policy development and investigative scrutiny.

The Council’s Scrutiny Committees have developed their Forward Work Programmes (FWP) for the period September 2011 to July 2012 and these were confirmed by the respective committees at their meetings in Autumn 2011. Click on the links on the right of this page to view the Forward Work Programmes.
